Yucatán

A month in the Yucatán! I’m loving life in Mérida where the sun is out almost every day and it some how makes the already vibrant buildings even more saturated. Each day there’s an endless feast for my eyes (and belly).

Life is very tranquilo here and I was told there are only two seasons in Mérida: calor y much calor. But to me, its all very hot and the heat tires you out quick- I’m beginning to understand why siestas are so common mid day after lunch. My days have been mostly filled with Spanish classes, annoying my new cat, exploring new hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and reading poetry. I’m not sure if its growing up in San Diego, but Mexican culture feels very familiar and comforting to me. Like a part of me has lived in Mexico already… almost like deja vu.

Anywayssss here’s a photo dump of the last month in Mexico. I’m not shooting as much as I’d like but oh well, such is life.
